History

In January 2009 Experiment IV was formed by current quartet members Brian Shaw and Don Everest who had known each other through previous quartet "Excalibur". Prior to that had sung together with award winning chorus "The Cambridge Chord Company". The original line up consisted of: Alan Lamprell-Tenor, Brian Shaw-Lead, Bradley Thompson-Baritone and Don Everest-Bass.The picture on the right shows us at our first gig singing at the Southend Bandstand where we shared the stage with Jazz Legend "Digby Fairweather" at the Southend Festival of Music in May 2009.
In November 2009 Bradley moved on and Graham Pollard stepped in to help us out for four months and helped us to achieve an honours certificate at our first competitive outing at the Southend Music Festival. In February 2010 Nigel Green accepted the position permanently and work began on preparing for the 2010 music festival.
But our efforts were put on hold for a month when Alan (pictured left) moved on to pastures new in August 2010. Luckily we did not have to wait long for a replace
ment as we were quickly joined by Joel Knight (pictured right) from "The Royal Harmonics" in Windsor who was happy to take the position in September 2010 just in time to help us win our first gold medal at the Southend Music Festival in November 2010.
The final line up was determined in August 2011 when due to work commitments Nigel was unable to sing with us any more. T
am Large (pictured left) stepped in to help us out as Tenor and Joel changed part from Tenor to Baritone and there you have it.
Experiment IV would like to thank all its members past and present who have helped us become the quartet you see today. Every single member at some time has added their own knowledge and experience to experiment IV.
One thing you can be sure of is that whenever we meet up with our old members, we always have a little sing for old times sake.
All the best lads - Experiment IV (present)
